Stuck for time?
Is it affecting how often or IF you exercise?
Here’s a few tips to help you get the most out of your gym time!
–Minimal Distractions! Put your mobile phone on aeroplane mode. If it’s important, they will leave a message and you can get back to them in 30 minutes (or an hour)!
–Less Talk, More Work. Explain to your fellow gym goers that you would love a chat but you are on a tight time schedule. They will understand! Or better yet, go side by side on the treadmill, chat away and the time will fly!
–Supersets or Circuits. Try incorporating a few of your favourite exercises in together. Swap between the two or throw in a few more exercises and turn it into a circuit style workout.
–Break Up Your Training Time. To get the benefits from 30 minutes of exercise per day it doesn’t have to be in one solid block. Try breaking it up into 10-minute blocks throughout your day.
–Incorporate More Incidental Activity Into Your Day. Incidental activities are those things you do from day to day that aren’t included as your main source of exercise. Take the stairs (all the time!), park an extra block away from work and do some work standing up at your desk!
One of the most common excuses people use for not exercising is “I don’t have time”. The truth is, everyone has the same 24 hours in a day. You just need to make it a priority and find a way you can make it work for YOU!
Keep in mind, there is no ‘best’ form of exercise or a magic ‘fits all’ program. It is all about finding a type of exercise which you enjoy and will therefore stick to!
