Despite our facility currently being non-operational, we believe our Health & Fitness should still be a high priority, and we will be doing everything we can to accommodate the needs of our members (and non-members) and keep our community active during this time.

  • Outdoor classes (Addressing due to a number of enquiries in the past 24 hours)

Prior to this email we were waiting on word from Fitness Australia to find out if we were still able to offer outdoor class services. As of yet, they still believe that outdoor exercise is allowed however, it has also been discussed that this would contradict the reason for our closure in the first place and just move the gathering from indoors to an outdoor setting.

In addition to this, Snowy Valleys Council are also doing their part to adhere to the latest announcements and as a result, have closed the local sporting field services which confirms we will NOT be running any outdoor classes until we are approved to do so at a later date.

  • FREE digital coach

Thanks to our friends at Life Fitness, we are able to provide you with access to a free virtual workout platform to help you stay motivated, stay on track with your fitness goals and keep your spirits high until you are able to get back into the gym.

This app will provide ‘WOD’s’ (Workouts Of the Day) with the content updated daily. You can view this on any web browser or on a mobile device.

  • 60-Day Free trial to our online Group Fitness Platform

As a ‘Mossa’ licenced facility, we have been providing a variety of Pre-Choreographed classes on our timetable for the past 5 years. Last night we made the announcement to our current group fitness participants (on our Group Fitness @ The Gym Tumut Facebook group) that we would be providing a FREE 60-day trial to the ‘MOSSA MOVE’ online training platform. This will give users access to 8 different training programs which they can do in the convenience of their own home. The programs consist of cardio, strength, dance, yoga-inspired, and indoor cycling.

These programs have all been specifically designed for the home-user experience. There are options to participate in these classes with no/minimal equipment and this offer will be available for EVERYONE, not just our regular group fitness attendees.

  • MYZONE monthly MEP challenges

Each month we will be running a monthly challenge for our MYZONE users. ‘MEP’s’ (Myzone Effort Points) are points that are earned based on the effort you put into each workout. While we encourage you to stay active and earn as many as you can, all you will need to do is earn 1,300 MEPS (the minimum exercise guidelines based on the world health organisation) to have a chance at winning a prize.
The prizes up for grabs for this challenge will be vouchers from local businesses who are also doing it tough during this time.

If you are interested in picking up an MZ-3 Myzone belt for $99 (saving of $100!) and joining in on the challenges, please contact me on how to do so.
